About The LightHouse at Teachable Moments

I am the dream, You are the doers – Improving the lives of central Ohioans 40 plus and over who experience blindness or vision loss by amplifying our voices and ensuring equitable access for all.

Teachable Moments will remove barriers, create solutions and expand possibilities so people with vision loss can achieve their full potential.

Teachable Moments envisions a world where people with vision loss have equal access and opportunities.

My Dream

I have a dream. I have no money. I am an African-American who happens to be blind. A graduate of the Ohio State School for the Blind, Columbus, I have a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with a concentration in public relations from The Ohio State University.

A motivational speaker; community activist; grant writer; author of the 2015 book, I’m Not Special, Just Me- The Reggie Anglen Story; former director of an afterschool program for inner city youths in Columbus; Youth Leader; Outreach Worker; president (1997-2004), Columbus Association of Black Journalists and a public relations professional; a graduate of Leadership Columbus. I am available for speaking engagements.

Action is our watchword. Finding hope is our solution – It will bring Results

Like Helen Keller, our most famous ambassador, we will commit to creating a more equitable world for people with vision loss. Teachable Moments ™ will be there to help at every stage of life.
